Design & Build

The POCO X8 Power is a large phone, measuring 163.44 × 78.27 × 8.65mm and weighing 229 grams. Its polycarbonate rear panel helps keep the construction practical, although the enormous battery naturally makes the phone heavier than many conventional mid-range devices.

Durability is one of the phone’s stronger areas. It carries IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for protection against dust and water under specified testing conditions. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

The X8 Power is available in Black and Yellow colour options.

Display

The poco x8 power features a 6.83-inch flat AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It also supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision and up to 3,500 nits peak brightness. A high-frequency 3,840Hz PWM dimming system and TÜV eye-protection certifications are designed to make extended viewing more comfortable.

For everyday users, the combination should be particularly useful for streaming, browsing and gaming. The 120Hz refresh rate makes scrolling feel smoother, while the high peak brightness should help with outdoor visibility. The display also supports Wet Touch 2.0, which is useful when the screen or fingers are wet.

Performance

Powering the POCO X8 Power is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 5, built on a 4nm process. The processor reaches up to 2.6GHz and is paired with LPDDR5X RAM. Storage options currently listed for India include 128GB and 256GB.

This hardware puts the phone firmly in the mid-range category. It should be well suited to everyday multitasking, social media, streaming and gaming, while the faster LPDDR5X memory gives the Power model an advantage over phones using older memory standards.

However, there is no reason to treat the X8 Power as a flagship gaming phone. Buyers looking for maximum gaming performance should look toward devices using more powerful Snapdragon or MediaTek chipsets.

Camera

The rear camera system consists of a 50MP primary camera with OIS and an 8MP ultrawide camera. The main sensor has an f/1.5 aperture according to current specification listings, while the ultrawide camera provides a wider perspective for landscapes and group shots.

The front camera has a 32MP sensor and supports video recording up to 4K at 30fps according to current listings.

The important point is that the X8 Power’s camera setup is more versatile than a simple high-megapixel specification suggests. OIS can help reduce camera shake, while the ultrawide lens gives users a second useful shooting perspective. Actual image quality, however, should be judged through independent testing rather than camera specifications alone.

Battery & Charging

The 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery is the phone’s biggest selling point. It is substantially larger than the batteries found in most conventional mid-range smartphones.

POCO pairs it with 100W HyperCharge and up to 27W wired reverse charging, allowing the X8 Power to act as a power source for compatible devices. Current listings state that the phone can reach a full charge in around 47 minutes under the specified charging setup.

The trade-off is weight. At 229 grams, the phone is noticeably built around endurance rather than being an ultra-light device.

Software & AI

The POCO X8 Power runs Android 16 with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3. POCO promises four OS upgrades and six years of security updates, giving the phone a longer software-support window than many mid-range models.

The software package also includes modern Android features and Xiaomi’s HyperOS ecosystem. AI capabilities should not be judged solely from the processor’s AI hardware; specific software features depend on what POCO has enabled on the device.

Connectivity & Special Features

The X8 Power supports 5G, dual SIM connectivity, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, an IR blaster and USB Type-C. It also includes stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support and an in-display optical fingerprint scanner.

Its combination of 10,000mAh battery, 100W charging and IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K protection is what separates it from more conventional mid-range phones.

Price & Availability in India

The POCO X8 Power starts at ₹35,999 in India for the 8GB + 128GB configuration.

  • 8GB x 128GB – ₹35,999
  • 8GB x 256GB – ₹38,999

POCO has announced a ₹2,000 coupon discount along with an additional ₹1,000 bank offer or exchange benefit, potentially bringing the effective starting price to ₹32,999 for eligible buyers. These are launch benefits rather than a permanent reduction in the phone’s official price.

The phone will go on sale in India from September 11, 2026, at 12 noon via Flipkart. It is offered in Black and Yellow.

Competition & Alternatives

Alternative Why Consider It? Why Choose POCO X8 Power Instead?
Realme P4 Power 10,000mAh-class battery and 144Hz AMOLED display POCO offers 100W charging and extensive IP protection
OnePlus Nord CE6 More performance-focused Snapdragon platform POCO offers a much larger battery
POCO X8 Lower starting price and similar display X8 Power offers a larger battery, faster charging and ultrawide camera

The Realme P4 Power is one of the most relevant alternatives because it also targets buyers who want exceptional battery capacity. The OnePlus Nord CE6 is worth considering for buyers who put more emphasis on processing performance.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Huge 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery
  • Fast 100W charging
  • Bright 120Hz AMOLED display
  • OIS-equipped main camera plus ultrawide lens
  • Strong IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K protection
  • Six years of security updates

Cons

  • 229g weight makes it a heavy phone
  • Mid-range chipset rather than flagship-level performance
  • Camera quality still needs independent testing

Final Verdict: Should You Buy It?

The POCO X8 Power 5G makes the most sense for buyers who want to minimise charging anxiety. Its 10,000mAh battery is the standout feature, while 100W charging, a 120Hz AMOLED display and IP69K-level protection give the phone a broader feature set than just its battery suggests.

At ₹35,999, however, the phone is not aimed at buyers who simply want the fastest performance possible. Its Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 platform is better suited to everyday use, multimedia and moderate gaming than demanding flagship-level workloads.

Best for: Users who prioritise battery life, frequent travellers, multimedia consumption and buyers looking for a durable mid-range phone.

Consider alternatives if: You want maximum gaming performance, a lighter handset or a camera system that has already established itself through extensive independent testing.

Bottom line: The POCO X8 Power stands out because few mid-range phones combine a 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, 100W charging, a 120Hz AMOLED display and extensive water/dust protection in one package. For battery-focused buyers, it is one of the more interesting new options in its price range.
