Design and Build
The Redmi Clip Neo uses an open-ear clip-on design that attaches around the outer ear rather than sitting inside the ear canal. Each earbud weighs 5.3 grams, while the complete package with the charging case weighs approximately 45 grams.
Its main structural component is a 0.6mm flexible memory titanium wire covered with skin-friendly liquid silicone at the contact points. Redmi says the frame has passed 25,000 bending tests, indicating that it has been designed to withstand repeated flexing during everyday use.
The earbuds also feature a C-shaped bridge and a 3.4mm clamping gap. Redmi says its design was refined using data from more than 1,000 ear shapes.
Another useful feature is that the earbuds can be worn on either ear, removing the need to identify separate left and right units. They also support wear detection, allowing playback to pause automatically when an earbud is removed.
The physical design is available in Zero Black and Pearl White.
Audio Features and Sound
The Redmi Clip Neo features 12mm dual-magnetic dynamic drivers. According to Redmi, the dual-magnetic arrangement increases magnetic flux by 20%, maximum amplitude by 25% and overall loudness by 40% compared with conventional single-magnetic driver designs.
The diaphragm also uses a diamond-like carbon coating, which Redmi says helps improve transient response and reduce distortion.
Open-ear designs generally allow users to remain more aware of their surroundings because they do not seal the ear canal. However, this construction can make bass reproduction and sound isolation more challenging than with conventional in-ear earbuds.
To address the low-frequency limitations, Redmi includes a bass compensation algorithm. Users can also adjust the sound through four preset equaliser modes or a custom 10-band equaliser.
These are manufacturer claims, and independent listening tests will be needed to establish how the earbuds perform in everyday use.
Call Noise Reduction and Controls
The Redmi Clip Neo includes dual microphones with AI-powered noise reduction for voice calls. This is intended to improve voice clarity in environments with background noise.
However, the earbuds do not offer active noise cancellation for music listening. The AI noise reduction feature is specifically intended for calls.
One of the more unusual additions is the inclusion of physical buttons on the earbuds instead of relying entirely on touch controls.
The buttons support playback functions, including pausing music, skipping tracks and returning to previous tracks. A long press can also summon a voice assistant.
The controls are customisable, and the earbuds support assistant access on compatible Android devices and iPhones.
Battery and Connectivity
Battery life is another important feature of the Redmi Clip Neo.
Each earbud packs a 46mAh typical-capacity battery, while the charging case houses a 520mAh battery. Redmi claims up to seven hours of music playback from the earbuds alone and up to 32 hours when used with the charging case.
The official testing conditions specify Bluetooth AAC connectivity at 50% volume with other features in their default state. Actual battery life will vary depending on volume, connectivity and usage.
Charging takes place through a USB Type-C port.
For connectivity, the earbuds support Bluetooth 5.4 and SBC and AAC audio codecs. They also offer simultaneous connection to two devices, allowing users to switch between compatible connected devices more conveniently.
The stated wireless operating range is up to 10 metres in an unobstructed environment.
Price and Availability
The Redmi Clip Neo has launched in China with a starting price of CNY 399. It is available in Zero Black and Pearl White colour options.
Redmi has also introduced a limited-edition collaboration with CryingCenter, a sports and streetwear brand. This version costs CNY 449 and includes the Zero Black earbuds, a branded carrying pouch, stickers and special gift-box packaging.
The pricing is as follows:
- Standard Redmi Clip Neo – CNY 399
- Redmi × CryingCenter Edition – CNY 449

Redmi × CryingCenter Edition
The earbuds are currently listed through Xiaomi’s Chinese online store. There is no confirmed Indian, European or other international launch date yet.
Redmi Clip Neo vs Xiaomi Clip-on: What’s Different?
The biggest difference between the two products is their positioning and price.
The Xiaomi Clip-on was introduced as Xiaomi’s original clip-on open-ear offering at CNY 800. The Redmi Clip Neo arrives at CNY 399, making this style of earbuds considerably more accessible within the company’s product lineup.
The Redmi model offers several notable features, including a titanium wire frame, 12mm dual-magnetic drivers, physical controls and 32-hour claimed total battery life.
However, a lower price does not automatically establish equivalent audio quality or overall performance. Independent testing would be needed to determine how closely the two products compare in sound, call quality and comfort.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Lightweight 5.3g earbuds
- Flexible memory titanium wire construction
- 12mm dual-magnetic drivers
- Up to 32 hours of claimed total battery life
- Physical playback controls
- Customisable 10-band equaliser
- Dual-device connectivity
- Lower price than Xiaomi Clip-on
Cons
- No active noise cancellation
- No high-resolution Bluetooth audio codecs listed
- Open-ear construction may offer less bass isolation
Final Verdict: Should You Consider the Redmi Clip Neo?
The Redmi Clip Neo is an interesting addition to the open-ear audio category, particularly because of its CNY 399 starting price.
Its clip-on design, flexible titanium frame, physical controls and 32-hour claimed battery life give it a useful feature combination for people who prefer not to wear conventional in-ear earbuds.
It could be particularly appealing to commuters, office workers and users who want to remain aware of their surroundings while listening to music or taking calls.
However, buyers looking for active noise cancellation, strong passive isolation or the best possible audio quality in noisy environments should consider conventional in-ear alternatives.
Best for: Users interested in lightweight open-ear earbuds, everyday listening and awareness of their surroundings.
Consider alternatives if: You need ANC, strong bass isolation or premium wireless audio codecs.
Bottom line: At half the launch price of Xiaomi’s original Clip-on earbuds, the Redmi Clip Neo makes clip-on audio more accessible. Its actual value will depend on sound quality, comfort and call performance in independent testing.
