JBL has launched the JBL Live Beam 4 in India as a new premium pair of true wireless earbuds focused on adaptive noise cancellation, personalised sound, and long battery life.

The earbuds come with 10mm dynamic drivers, Hi-Res Audio support, JBL Spatial Sound, six microphones, and a Smart Charging Case running JBL Smart OS 3.0. They are priced at ₹24,999 in India and are available through JBL’s online store and other major retail channels.

The design is different from the Live Buds 4 launched alongside them. The Live Beam 4 uses an in-ear stem-style design with silicone tips, which some users may find easier to handle and more comfortable for longer listening sessions.

The big advantage on paper, however, is battery life. The earbuds can deliver up to 40 hours with ANC enabled and 48 hours with ANC turned off.

Design and Fit

The JBL Live Beam 4 takes an in-ear stem design with silicone tips. Compared with traditional rounded earbuds, the stem gives the design a slightly more familiar shape and can make touch controls easier to locate.

The silicone tips also help create a tighter seal, which is important for both bass response and active noise cancellation.

Honestly, fit is often the difference between liking a pair of TWS earbuds and forgetting they’re even there. The right tip size can make a bigger difference to ANC performance than another number on the specification sheet.

Audio Performance

The JBL Live Beam 4 feature 10mm dynamic drivers and support Hi-Res Audio alongside JBL Signature Sound.

JBL also includes JBL Spatial Sound, Personi-Fi 3.0, Personal Sound Amplification, and Low Volume EQ. Together, these features allow users to customise how the earbuds sound depending on what they’re listening to.

Music should benefit from the larger dynamic-driver setup, while spatial sound can make compatible video and entertainment content feel more expansive.

What stands out is that JBL isn’t relying on one audio profile. Instead, the company gives users several ways to adjust the sound according to their preferences.

Adaptive Noise Cancellation

Noise cancellation is one of the major selling points here. The Live Beam 4 uses four microphones with True Adaptive Noise Cancelling 2.0, allowing the earbuds to adjust noise reduction based on the environment.

The model also adds Smart Talk with Adaptive Noise Cancelling 2.0. This is particularly useful when you need to have a quick conversation without manually removing the earbuds.

For commuters and office users, that kind of feature can be surprisingly convenient. You can keep listening and still interact with people around you without constantly switching modes yourself.

Calls and Microphone Features

JBL has fitted the earbuds with six microphones and Perfect Calls 2.0 technology.

The system is designed to improve voice clarity during phone calls by combining microphone processing with an AI-powered call equaliser and sound level optimiser.

That makes the Live Beam 4 a more practical option for people who use their earbuds for work as much as they do for entertainment.

Of course, microphone performance can still change depending on wind, traffic, and other environmental noise, but the six-mic arrangement gives the earbuds plenty of hardware to work with.

Smart Charging Case

The Smart Charging Case is another major part of the experience.

Running JBL Smart OS 3.0, the case provides a touchscreen interface for controlling different aspects of the earbuds. Users can access audio controls and customise certain settings directly from the case rather than reaching for their phone.

This is a clever addition for people who switch frequently between devices or don’t want to keep opening the JBL app.

The case also supports wireless charging, adding another convenient option when you’re topping up the earbuds.

Battery Life and Fast Charging

Battery life is where the JBL Live Beam 4 has a clear advantage over its sibling.

The earbuds are rated for up to 40 hours of total playback with ANC enabled and up to 48 hours with ANC turned off.

That should be enough for several days of moderate listening before needing to think about charging the case.

JBL also claims that a 10-minute charge can provide up to four hours of audio playback. That’s useful for those moments when the battery is low but you don’t have time for a full recharge.

The combination of long endurance and quick top-ups makes the Live Beam 4 particularly appealing to frequent travellers.

App Support and Controls

The JBL Live Beam 4 can be customised through the JBL Headphones app, while touch controls provide quick access to playback and other functions.

Users can adjust the listening experience, manage noise cancellation, and take advantage of JBL’s personalisation features.

The combination of app controls and the Smart Charging Case means you have several ways to manage the earbuds instead of depending on a single interface.

Final Verdict

The JBL Live Beam 4 is an interesting premium TWS option because it puts equal emphasis on audio quality, ANC, calls, and battery life.

The 10mm dynamic drivers and JBL Signature Sound cover the basics, while Hi-Res Audio, spatial sound, Personi-Fi 3.0, and adaptive noise cancellation add more flexibility for experienced listeners.

The 48-hour maximum battery life is arguably its strongest practical advantage. Add the Smart Charging Case, wireless charging, six microphones, and Smart Talk, and the package becomes considerably more versatile than a basic pair of wireless earbuds.

At ₹24,999, it sits in a competitive segment, but users who prioritise long battery life and smart ANC features should have plenty to like here.
