The wireless earbuds market is getting more interesting as brands move beyond traditional in-ear designs. Following the growing popularity of open-ear audio products, CMF Clip Pro has arrived as the brand’s first clip-on wireless earbuds, focusing on comfort, awareness, and everyday listening.
Unlike regular TWS earbuds that sit inside the ear canal, the CMF Clip Pro uses an open-ear clip design that rests around the ear while keeping the ear canal open. This approach makes the earbuds more suitable for users who want to enjoy music while staying aware of their surroundings, especially during outdoor activities, commuting, or workouts.
Interestingly, clip-style earbuds are becoming a noticeable trend in the audio industry, with premium brands also exploring similar designs. CMF is now bringing the concept into a more affordable segment with a focus on comfort and smart controls.

Design & Comfort
The biggest attraction of the CMF Clip Pro is its unusual design.
Instead of using silicone ear tips, the earbuds use a clip mechanism where one section attaches behind the ear while the speaker unit sits outside the ear canal. CMF says the design uses a 3-point Clip Design to distribute pressure more evenly and improve comfort during long listening sessions.
The earbuds are available in three colour options:
- Dark Grey
- Light Grey
- Coral
The charging case also gets an interesting upgrade with a rotating dial that can be used for adjusting volume, controlling music playback, managing calls, and pairing compatible devices.
That’s actually a useful addition because controlling earbuds usually requires tapping gestures or reaching for the smartphone.
Sound Quality & Audio Experience
Open-ear earbuds usually face one major challenge: delivering strong sound while keeping the ear canal open.
CMF tries to solve this with a 10.8mm dual-magnet dynamic driver along with its Ultra Bass Technology, designed to improve low-frequency output. The earbuds also support LDAC, AAC, and SBC codecs, giving users more flexibility depending on their smartphone compatibility.
Interestingly, the open-ear design means the listening experience will naturally be different from traditional noise-isolating TWS earbuds. These are designed more for comfort and awareness rather than creating a fully isolated music environment.
CMF has also added a Sound Seal System, which aims to reduce sound leakage and improve mid and high-frequency performance.
Calling Performance
For calls, the CMF Clip Pro comes equipped with four HD microphones and a VPU-powered Clear Voice Technology system.
The system is designed to separate the user’s voice from surrounding noise, which should help during outdoor calls or meetings in busier environments.
However, real-world call performance can vary depending on surroundings, and detailed independent testing will reveal how well the microphones perform in noisy locations.
Battery Life & Charging
Battery life is another strong area for the CMF Clip Pro.
Each earbud includes a 60mAh battery, offering:
- Up to 10 hours playback on earbuds
- Up to 6.5 hours talk time
The charging case packs a 475mAh battery, extending total playback time up to 32.5 hours and talk time up to 25 hours.
For regular listeners, this should easily cover multiple days of casual usage before needing a recharge.
Connectivity & Smart Features
The CMF Clip Pro supports modern connectivity features including:
- Bluetooth 5.4
- LDAC audio support
- AAC and SBC codecs
- Multipoint connectivity
- Low Latency Mode for gaming
- Google Fast Pair
- Microsoft Swift Pair
These features make the earbuds more versatile for users switching between smartphones, tablets, and laptops.
Should You Buy CMF Clip Pro?
The CMF Clip Pro is an interesting entry into the growing open-ear earbuds category. Instead of competing directly with traditional ANC TWS earbuds, it focuses on comfort, awareness, and a different listening style.
Users who spend a lot of time outdoors, exercise regularly, or dislike the feeling of in-ear earbuds may find the clip-on design appealing. The LDAC support, long battery life, smart dial case, and affordable pricing also make it an attractive option in the open-ear segment.
However, buyers looking for strong noise isolation or a fully immersive music experience may prefer traditional in-ear earbuds with ANC.
Since the CMF Clip Pro is not coming to India, interested buyers will need to wait for possible future CMF launches or consider officially available alternatives in their region.
