Beats has launched the Beats 360 in India as its new flagship over-ear headphones, with a design built around interchangeable ear and headband cushions. Unlike conventional premium headphones where worn-out cushions usually mean replacing the pads separately, the Beats 360 lets users swap both the material and colour of the cushions, making the headphones easier to customise and refresh over time.

The Beats 360 are also designed for more active use than typical premium over-ear headphones. They carry an IPX4 rating for sweat and water resistance, while the default Performance Knit cushions use breathable fabric over memory foam. The headphones combine this workout-focused design with Active Noise Cancellation, Personalised Spatial Audio and a new acoustic platform.

Battery life is rated at up to 32 hours, including with ANC and Personalised Spatial Audio enabled. The headphones are priced at ₹42,900 in India and are positioned for users who want one pair of over-ear headphones for workouts, commuting, travel and longer listening sessions.

Design & Interchangeable Cushions

The interchangeable cushion system is the main design feature of the Beats 360. Both the ear cushions and the headband cushion can be removed and replaced, allowing users to change the colour or switch between different materials.

The headphones come with colour-matched Performance Knit cushions, which use memory foam wrapped in a breathable knit material. Beats positions this option toward active use, particularly workouts where heat and sweat can build up around conventional leather-style ear pads.

Optional Cushion Kits add further combinations. Performance Knit kits are available in six colours, while UltraPlush kits use an engineered leather material and are available in Black and Cloud.

The headphones fold flat and come with a woven ripstop carrying case. The Beats 360 weigh 294.5 grams, so they are not particularly lightweight, but the adjustable headband and rotating earcups are designed to provide a more secure fit during movement.

IPX4 Rating and Workout Use

The Beats 360 are the first over-ear Beats headphones to receive an IP rating, with an IPX4 rating for sweat and water resistance. That makes them better suited to workouts, runs and outdoor use than conventional headphones without a stated water-resistance rating.

IPX4 does not mean the headphones are waterproof. The rating covers water splashes from any direction, and Beats specifically describes them for sweat and water exposure during non-water sports and exercise.

The Beats 360 feature Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency mode and Personalised Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking.

Beats claims the headphones provide up to 1.75 times more total noise cancellation than the Beats Studio Pro, making them the company’s most advanced ANC headphones to date. This is a manufacturer comparison rather than an independent measurement.

Nine microphones are built into the headphones, with eight used for ANC and three involved in voice pickup. The system continuously adjusts to surrounding noise and the headphones’ fit.

Personalised Spatial Audio uses the built-in accelerometer and gyroscope for dynamic head tracking, which can make supported music and video content appear anchored to the listener’s position.

Connectivity & Apple and Android Features

The Beats 360 use Bluetooth 5.3 and a proprietary Beats chip in each earcup rather than Apple’s H1 or H2 chips.

Despite that, Apple users get several ecosystem features, including one-touch pairing, automatic switching between Apple devices, iCloud pairing, hands-free Siri, Audio Sharing and Find My support.

Android users are also supported through the Beats Android app. Available features include Google Fast Pair, Google account pairing, Audio Switch and Find Hub.

This gives the Beats 360 a broader platform strategy than headphones designed primarily around Apple’s ecosystem.

Battery Life

The Beats 360 offer up to 32 hours of listening time on a single charge, including with Active Noise Cancellation and Personalised Spatial Audio enabled. This is one of the more important improvements over the company’s previous premium headphones because users do not have to disable those features to reach the headline battery rating.

Beats also supports Fast Fuel charging, with a five-minute charge providing up to one hour of playback.

The headphones charge through USB-C. However, unlike the Beats Studio Pro and AirPods Max 2, the Beats 360 do not support wired audio playback.

The ₹10,000 price gap is important. The Studio Pro offers longer maximum battery life with ANC disabled, while the Beats 360’s main advantages are its IPX4 protection, interchangeable cushions, newer acoustic platform and 32-hour battery claim with ANC enabled.

For someone who regularly works out in over-ear headphones, those differences are more relevant than simply comparing battery numbers.
