The smaller Speaker S targets users who want a compact speaker for everyday listening and travel, while the larger Speaker M features a dedicated woofer and tweeter for higher audio output. Both offer up to 18 hours of playback, Bluetooth 6.0 and support for Auracast-based Party Mode.
The speakers are priced at $59 and $109, respectively, in the US. Nothing says sales are available through its online store and select partners. Indian pricing and market-specific sale details have not been confirmed in the available official product information.

Design and Build
Both speakers use a geometric design inspired by a milk carton, giving them a distinctive appearance compared with conventional portable Bluetooth speakers. They come in White, Turquoise, Dark Grey and Orange.
The CMF Speaker S measures 130.5 × 85 × 44mm and weighs 334g. Its compact size and built-in utility hook make it easier to carry or attach to a bag. The larger Speaker M measures 220 × 85 × 54mm, weighs 602g and includes an integrated handle.
CMF Speaker S & M models feature removable panels for customisation and carry an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. According to Nothing, the rating covers tested immersion in fresh water up to 1.5 metres for 30 minutes under controlled conditions. It should not be interpreted as protection against every type of liquid exposure.
Audio and Performance
The CMF Speaker S uses a custom-tuned 45mm full-range driver supported by two passive radiators. Its 10W RMS output and 70Hz–20kHz frequency response position it as the more compact option for personal listening, small rooms and travel.
The CMF Speaker M steps up to a two-driver configuration with a 70mm woofer rated at 25W RMS and a 16mm tweeter rated at 10W RMS. The combined 35W RMS output and lower 60Hz frequency-response limit give it a more substantial hardware foundation for bass reproduction and separation between vocals and instruments.
CMF Speaker S & M models use adaptive audio tuning to adjust playback and equalisation in real time, according to Nothing. They also offer Ultra Bass and Wide Soundstage modes, alongside four EQ presets: Balanced, More Bass, More Treble and Voice. These settings can be accessed through the Nothing X app.
However, output power and frequency response alone do not establish actual sound quality. Independent listening tests will be needed to assess bass control, clarity, distortion and performance at higher volumes.
Battery and Charging
Both speakers are rated for up to 18 hours of playback. Nothing specifies this figure at 50% volume with Ultra Bass enabled and AAC playback, so actual battery life will depend on listening volume, content and other settings.
The Speaker S has a 2,600mAh battery, while the Speaker M uses a larger 4,900mAh unit. Both support USB-C charging, and a 10-minute charge is claimed to provide up to one hour of playback under the company’s test conditions.
A full charge takes approximately 2.5 hours for the Speaker S and three hours for the Speaker M when using a compatible 5V/3A charging setup.
Connectivity and Special Features
Bluetooth 6.0 is supported on both models, along with NFC tap-to-pair, Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair. Dual-device connectivity allows a speaker to remain connected to two audio sources, making it easier to switch between a phone and a laptop.
USB-C audio is also built in, allowing wired playback from compatible devices. Nothing advertises latency below 60ms for USB-C audio, which may be useful for desktop video and gaming.
Stereo Mode pairs two identical speakers to separate left and right audio channels. Party Mode uses Auracast to broadcast audio to multiple compatible speakers, including supported products from other brands. Stereo Mode therefore requires matching Speaker S or Speaker M units, while Party Mode depends on compatible Auracast hardware.
Physical controls include a multifunction knob for playback, track navigation and volume, along with dedicated power, Bluetooth and Auracast buttons.
Price and Availability

CMF Speaker S
The CMF Speaker S costs $59 (Approx. ₹5,650), while the CMF Speaker M is priced at $109 (~₹10,500) in the US. Both models are offered in White, Turquoise, Dark Grey and Orange.

CMF Speaker M
Nothing says the speakers are available through its online store and select partners from October 12, 2026.
Both the CMF speaker S & M are listed on Nothing’s official India website. However, their Indian launch prices and sale dates should be confirmed before publication.
Competition and Alternatives
The CMF speakers will compete with portable Bluetooth speakers from brands such as JBL, Anker Soundcore and Sony. Buyers comparing models in these price ranges should consider output, battery performance, water resistance, size and available connectivity rather than relying on wattage alone.
The Speaker S is the more portable option, while the Speaker M offers higher rated output and a dedicated woofer-tweeter arrangement. A final value comparison will depend on local prices and independent audio testing.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- IP68 dust and water resistance on both models.
- Up to 18 hours of claimed playback.
- USB-C audio and dual-device connectivity.
- Customisable EQ and Auracast Party Mode.
- Higher-output, two-driver configuration on Speaker M.
Cons
- Actual sound quality has not been established by independent testing.
- Stereo Mode requires two speakers of the same model.
Final Verdict: Should You Buy It?
The CMF Speaker S & M offer two distinct approaches to portable audio. The Speaker S makes more sense for buyers prioritising portability, while the Speaker M is better suited to those who want higher rated output and a dedicated woofer-tweeter system.
Their combination of IP68 protection, USB-C audio, customisable sound and Auracast connectivity gives both models a useful feature set. However, rated power does not guarantee better sound, and the claimed battery life will vary with usage.
Best for: Buyers seeking a colourful portable speaker with flexible connectivity and sound customisation.
Consider alternatives if: You need independently verified audio performance, specific stereo features or a product with confirmed local pricing and availability.
Bottom line: The CMF Speaker S and Speaker M are worth considering on specifications, but independent listening tests and regional pricing will be important in determining their overall value.
